Construction Marketing Books by A/E/C CMOs

Better marketing decisions build better construction companies.

arketing is imperative to the growth and long-term health of a construction company, yet it remains one of the most misunderstood functions in the industry.

Too often, marketing is reduced to proposals, websites, events, social media, or “getting our name out there.” Those activities may be part of the job, but they barely scratch the surface of what strong marketing leadership can contribute.

Marketing helps construction leaders decide which clients to pursue, which markets to enter, how to differentiate the company, where to invest, how to strengthen client retention, how to recruit the people needed to grow, and how to build a brand that creates more value over time.

That is why I write books.

My goal is to translate marketing strategy into the language and realities of construction so executives and marketers can make better business decisions. The ideas have evolved as the industry, technology, buyers, and my own experience have changed, but the purpose has remained remarkably consistent: help construction companies understand marketing well enough to use it as a competitive advantage.

A growing library for the built environment

These books reflect different stages of that work, from the fundamentals of construction brand marketing to a more interactive exploration of the strategic decisions construction marketers and leaders make every day.

Over time, this library will grow. Future volumes of Choose Your Own Construction Marketing Journey are planned, and A/E/C CMOs will provide a platform for other Construction Marketing Officers™ to share their own expertise, research, frameworks, and perspectives with the industry.
